In Iran, the ‘Harlem Shake’ could be revolutionary:February 22, 2013 (article by MSNBC.COM) — ZirZameen’s access to Iranian televisions creates a unique opportunity to reach the heavily-censored Farsi-speaking market. With this power ZirZameen is trying to expose Iranians to examples of art and activism that are unavailable or hard to access for much of that country. Executive Producer Sahar Sarshar explained her intentions on Facebook:

From December 2012 to March 2013, Sahar Sarshar has been the Executive Producer of a Persian & English series about underground artists and activists. The original concept started as a proposal for a Pilot TV show Sarshar came up with in August of 2012. Not only did she film, edit, produce, research, write all of the mini documentaries & stand ups in the series; but Sarshar guided every aspect of the production of this series and built the web graphics and social media.
In the short three months time the series has received a lot of recognition. Having over 22,000 views on the youtube site with 104 subscribers and also making headlines on MSNBC
The series received a very big buzz in Iran for an exclusive interview with an underground rap group residing there. Getting video sent from Iran is highly difficult with the low bandwidth and censorship that goes on there. It is also highly dangerous for artists to be on our programming or any western based programming.
